MultiProg Export PLCOpen XML , "V101" or "V101 ext"?

There are items in this forum that direct us to use both. Which one should we really use? What are the differences?

Comments

  • PLCnext Engineer requires the ext format.
I have now asked for the PLCnext Engineer help section on this topic to be corrected, since it does not mention the ext format.
I have not been told what the difference is between V101 and V101 ext formats, but these would be described by the PLCopen standard.
  • Apologies, the above answer is not correct.
PLCnext Engineer can now import files in either V101 or V101 ext formats.
Apparently the ext format includes more information, e.g. folder structures, and so would usually be preferred.
    Sorry for any confusion.
