Simulator for AXCF1152 Documentation

Dear PLCNext team,
As we can see, there is release of simulator for 1152 plc.
But were we can receive comprehensive documentation for this application.
It take some time to me to launch qemu vm, but I still cant connect and load test project to virtual device.
Best regards.

  • Hi Oleksandr,
the sim starts automatically when I select 'Simulation' instead of 'TCP/IP' in the Cockpit and execute Connect or Write and Start.
    Have you tried that?

    Cheers!
  • My laptop is showing behaviour similar to Oleksandr - there is a message in PLCnext Engineer saying the simulator is starting, but it does not seem to start.
    We are investigating this issue.

I try to start it in the way described by DivisionByZero, but I've got following message:

    "Simulation startup failed. (MSG_ONL0162)"
  • Yep, I get the same message as Konrad.
    We are investigating.

    Dear All,
Suggestion noted by DivisionByZero get worked.
Shame on me, I parsed conf file and launch vm by my hands....)

If launch simulation, as it planned, it work, but it starts not every time.
  • Thanks for the update.
The problem that Konrad and I are seeing might be a result of strict security policies on our machines, which might be harsher than for the average user. When we find the cause of that problem, I will update this thread in case anyone else has a similar problem.
  • Is Simulation a separate install, or is it included with the PLCnext Engineer install? If so, what version? Looking for a 2152 simulator.
  • The simulator is a separate install. It's available from the Download tab on the PLCnext Engineer product page.
At the moment the simulator only includes an image for the AXC F 1152. It is free to use this image.
In the future there will be downloads for other images, including the AXC F 2152. All those images will need a license, which can be ordered as an optional add-on to PLCnext Engineer.
  • The simulator launches, but it is asking for name and password(just like real PLC). What are these for the simulator?
  • There is a README file in the simulator installation directory that includes the username (admin) and password (plcnext) for the emulator.
This information will appear in the PLCnext Info Center at some point in the future.
  • The same problem here. I´ve got the follow message:

    "Simulation startup failed. (MSG_ONL0165)"
  • Sorry for the long delay.

The Simulation expects the following ports to be free:

    • 4840 (used by the OPC UA server)
    • 5555 (ssh)
    • 5050 (web server)
    • 41100 (remote services, used by e.g. PLCnext Engineer)

Please check that none of these ports are blocked, e.g. Port 4840 is the default for OPC UA servers, including OPC UA Local Discovery Servers.

A future version of the Simulator will include diagnostics messages for cases like this.
