Error Message MSG_ONL0163

Hi,

I'm having an issue with running the simulator, giving me the error message listed in the title. "Simulation of Controller AXCF 1152, v2022.0.0 is not supported. (MSG_ONL0163).

I've tried several different versions of the simulator and the program itself to no avail.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi niallc,

    did you install the simulation for the AXC F 1152 v2022.0 on your system? It's a separate setup.

    Hi Niall,

    This error is likely caused by a version mismatch.

    The firmware version of the controller you selected in your PLCnext Engineer project must match the version of the Simulator that you have installed. You can change this by replacing the device in your project with the correct firmware version from the Components tree. This video shows how this can be done - https://youtu.be/luTnMNcey64

    Sorry for the late reply.

    I've been through the software archive and tried multiple different solutions as well as following videos to the letter.

    For the program I'm running 2022.0.2 and the simulation is the 1152 as I'm aware of the licensing required for other models, the specific version being 2022.0.

    I run the 2152 sample project in the program and replace the controller with an 1152, rev. 2022. When I enter the cockpit and change it to 'simulation' it still refuses to run. I'm at a loss because the simulation setup program doesn't actually lead anywhere, it just takes me straight to a "change, repair or remove installation" page so although I'm guessing the simulation needs to actually be set up, it can't be.

    It's extremely frustrating because I've got a mountain to climb in terms of actually learning everything to do with PLCs and I can't get past this issue.

    Quick update, somehow actually got it to work.

    If anyone else runs into this issue, you'll need to select "repair" on the simulation setup wizard. Even though there's nothing wrong with it and you haven't even used it yet, it'll only work if you run the repair first. Once that's done, open the PLCnext software, swap your controller to the 1152 2022.0 and you'll be able to run it.

    Credentials for the password it'll ask you for are:

    name: admin

    password: plcnext
