check viewer resolution and change pages

Hi Team,

For a project we are using a combination between HMI view and tablet/PC for viewing the webserver. Now these have a completly different resolution settings.
It can be possible to make different pages that you need to visit manually, each for the expected resolution. But from my web building days I know there is a method of detecting/asking the client side resolution and go from there. The webserver will guide you to the page with the correct resolution settings or redistributes the items on the webpage to fit the screen -> Responsive webpage.
Is there such a way of detecting the client side resolution and then output the right sizes or make it responsive?

Another option would be to check the client IP address. We can make a HMI specific page that the HMI with static IP address can see and all others see the 'real webbrowser' pages.

Thanks in advance and help us work with these amazing products!

  • Hi Carel,

that would be a very useful feature indeed and we've it also on our backlog.
Unfortunately it is not that oftern demanded, so an implementation is not at hand.

So, for now there is no other way to create a selection to your landing page.

    Take care,
    Frank
  • Also I'm dealing with the same issue and need some kind of solution for this :D

    Kind regards, Wilco
