Teamviewer in PLCnext controller

Hi,

Is it possible to install team viwer in AXC F 2152 and make it available for remote configuration?

  • Hello Sarath,

my understanding is that teamviewer is a desktop tool that requires a graphical interface to function.
this is why most likely using teamview will not be possible. -> the AXC F 2152 has no GUI installed.

However there are lots of other possibilities to remote controll / configure an AXC F 2152 .
Open VPN  , SSH ect., https ..

  • Hi,

In the PLC next store, go for the IXON.CLOUD plugin.

It enable remote access to the PLC, like it's local connected. I have tested it, and it works fine.
There is a fee of using it, but the same goes for Teamviewer.

The only minus i find, is you can only access the controller and not devices on the same network like the HMI.

  • Hi Emil,

I am new to this and I am considering to use IXON cloud. Did you mean that IXON CLOUD plugin will allow us to do configuration toward AXC F 2152 via PLCnext engineer software remotely? (my installed PLCnext engineer software is in office while the controller is in remote area).
If yes, then this will be a very advantageous solution for us.
  • Hi folks,

I would like to use this opportunity for a little advertising :D

Of course there are several other solutions available, but since several month we've now also an app for the Phoenix Contact MGuard Secure Cloud available.

    MGuard Secure Cloud App

The secure cloud offers an ipsec VPN connection, which can be of course be used for PLCnext Engineer.

    Have a great weekend,
    Frank
  • Hi Franks,

Thanks for the recommendation, but when I clicked the link you attached, it directs me to Straton Runtime for AXC F 2152 app (not mGuard app), is it correct?
I also tried to search within the PLCnext Store the keyword 'mGuard' but still can't find any application.
Do I have some misunderstanding here?
  • Hi,

The link https://www.plcnextstore.com/916 is the right one, I think.
The mguard app is a paid app, so maybe it's not available in all countries.

Do you have access to the website from Europe? See you other paid apps in the Store?
  • Hi Jan,

Thank you, I just discovered that my area (APAC) isn't supported yet for this mGuard.
So back to my initial option, can I use the IXON cloud for remote programming the PLC (via PLCnext engineer software)?
  • Yes, I think you can use the IXON product for this, but to be 100% sure you should check with the vendors using the "Contact developer" button on their PLCnext Store page.

Even though you can't currently purchase the mGuard app in the Store from your region, it is still possible to get the app from your local Phoenix Contact office, if you would like to try it.
