Cannot Consistently Connect to AXC F 2152 in PLCnext Engineer

Hi, We have an AXC F 2152 on site that we cannot consistently connect to in PLCnext Engineer via VPN or via maintenance workstation on site. Last week I could not connect to the PLC using PLCnext engineer or ssh , however I could ping it and it was connected to our software via Modbus. I can only assume it did not recover after the switch it was connected to had restarted. A restart of the PLC fixed this and I could connect using PLCnext engineer again. Today I could connect to the PLC over VPN via PLCnext Engineer and input credentials, but I was getting the error: " a communication error has occurred while updating the online values". There were no changes to the program. After checking the network card in „Online Devices“ I lost the ability to connect at all. I tried connecting via an onsite workstation and it could not connect at all. Restarting the PLC fixed it as well, however there had been no network changes that would have caused this. Is there a firmware version that fixes this inconsistency? The PLC is monitoring critical equipment on site and for maintenance purposes we must have visibility of it all the time. After the go live date I cannot be restarting the PLC all the time to fix the visibility over the network. We have Rockwell Micro820’s on site that are almost identically configured and we have never had an issue connecting to the controller. PLCnext Engineer version 2020.6.2 PLC Firmware version 2020.3.1 Hardware version 02 PLC Network Settings: IP - X.X.144.165 Subnet - 255.255.255.224 Gateway - X.X.144.161 Switch Network Settings: IP - X.X.186.29 Subnet - 255.255.255.248 VPN Workstation Network settings: IP - X.X.171.2 Subnet - 255.255.255.128 On-site Workstation Network Settings: IP - X.X.173.32 Subnet - 255.255.225.0 Gateway - X.X.173.1 Attached are logs and the PLC notifications from Cockpit after restarting the second time (Logs will need to be renamed from .jpg format since I cannot upload .log format)

Hello Michael, the used PLCnext Engineer version and FW version are from last year, can they be updated? Used: PLCnext Engineer version 2020.6.2 PLC Firmware version 2020.3.1 Update to: PLCnext Engineer version 2021.3 PLC Firmware version 2021.0.5 LTS Best Regards Eduard

I am having the same issue. It takes a restart of the PLC or rewrite the program to view online values. I am using the latest version in both.

Hello AC, do you also use the last Controller Template in PLCnext Engineer project? BR Eduard
