Controlling the OPENVPN Service

For communication i want to set up a OpenVPN connection to my PLCNext. Step 1: Setting up the connection The configuration of the connection works perfekt => in the ifconfig i can see the tun0 => i can connect to the plcnext via ssh! Step 2: Controlling the service I changed the openvpn file in the /etc/init.d => the service connects to the right *.conf file I added the service with the update-rc.d defaults command so the service starts at booting Now my question: In all the other linux distros i can use the service or the systemctl command to start/restart/stop the services but on the plcnext it seems both of the commands are not known!! So HOW can i controll the openvpn service? Thanks for your answer! greetings Peter

Hi Peter, You are correct, the systemctl utility is not included in the firmware for PLCnext Control devices. You can control the service by calling the init.d script directly, i.e. /etc/init.d/yourscript start, /etc/init.d/yourscript stop, /etc/init.d/yourscript restart. ~ Martin.
