Bad luck with starter kit ? Hey guys Newbie here, just received starter kit.
* Install ok, works in webpage 192.168.1.10
* Checked a bit everything, all ok
* Can not make it work to cloud. I think he does not find my DNS (even same than gateway). Nevermind
* Read bus, etc... all ok (no list visible but green)
Installed latest FW version. I installed PLCNext Engineer, downloaded PLCnext_Technoloyg_Startkit_2.pcwex Connect to PLC ok Build Download ok Then nothing works as expected
* Get message “Failed to list local bus modules”
* Diagnostic Registers
Diagnostic Status Register | 0x0084
Diagnostic Parameter Register 1 | 0x0c14
Diagnostic Parameter Register 2 | 0x0001
RUN is solide green D blinking red Webpage responsive (but nothing from “ehmi”, only redirect) IDEAS ??? I am very frustrated. When factory reset, I can go back to initial condition, no problem.
Hello Dominique, the behavior you have told could be reasons with the localbus configuration.
The following says that we have to check the localbusfrom the starterkit first.
The next points are important to narrow down the strange behavior. We run this application step by step.
* Please create an dummy project in PnE 2020.6 and integrate only one module of your starterkit
* Check If the local bus is running D-LED
* Insert the current modules step by step and check after each module if the bus goes to run.
* It is also possible that you`ve got connection problems with module sockets.
================================================== Some additional points from your observations:
* > Read bus, etc… all ok (no list visible but green)
If by this you mean that you selected the “Read AXL F devices” command in PLCnext Engineer … I am afraid that this command does not work at the moment, so the hardware modules need to be added manually. Or, of you are using the pre-built project from the PLCnext Store, then the hardware configuration will already be included in the project.
* > Can not make it work to cloud.
Please check that the Gateway address in the PLC is set to the IP address of your internet router. You can check that the IP address settings are correct by opening a Secure Shell session on the PLC, using something like PuTTY. Once on the command-line of the PLC, you can try to “ping” any internet address or DNS name (e.g. www.google.com), and you should get a good response. Then, you need to enable Proficloud in the Web-based Management page. After that, you should be able to successfully register the PLC with Proficloud.
Thanks for suggestions. Well… it looks like it was not too hard, but as a new comer did not check at right location. After verifying everything it works. I dismantled everything first to verify all pins, ok. Then created new project, compile/run ok. Then rebuilding HW as I have in front of eyes, ok I used cloud to download demo of starter kit as an .app, works ok. Finally it appears the demo file that is referenced here : has hardware that has absolutely no common point with the starter kit we purchased…?
* DI 16 vs DI8 (it is common shared with DO)
* DO 16 vs DO8 (it is common shared with DI)
* AI/AO block is different
* There is a termination cover
Then I realized I was looking for file Stater Kit 2 : there is another kit available. PLCNEXT TECHNOLOGY STARTERKIT - 1188165… which I can not find price anywhere. …
Hi Dominique, I’m glad you got it working. Sorry for the confusion - I assumed you had the new starter kit, but I guess you have the original version of the kit (1046568). If your supplier cannot give you a price for the new starter kit, then please get in touch with the Phoenix Contact office in your country, and they should be able to help you out. ~ Martin
