HMI vs OPC UA credentials (branched from "RE: OPC UA anonymous client connection (branched from "Insert Blocks with EN-ENO")")

Will it be possible to have the user credentials active, but communication to OPC UA unencrypted?

For now i need to disable because my HMI don’t support encrypted, but only with username/password… - Emil

Hi Emil, I have branched this to a separate post, since the other thread was resolved. We will let you know when we have an answer to this question. ~ Martin.

Hi Emil, Sorry for the delay. Here is the answer to your question:

unfortunatly it is not possible to have the user credentials active, but to communicate about a unencrypted channel.
Currently, both options are implicitly combined within the WBM / Security / Deactivating the sucurity.
We are thinking about decoupling the both functions (Encryption and User Token (Username and Password)), but we do not know until when we will have realised it.

Regards,
Martin.
