Hello, I have a customer that wants to use this module to communicate Modbus RTU on the PLCnext with the Inline adapter (this module is supported in PLCnext Engineer). After looking at the documentation for the Modbus RTU library, it seems to only support the RS UNI. Is there a library that supports this module for the customer?

Martin, That thread is for the IB IL RS UNI, my customer wants to use an IB IL RS485/422-PRO-PAC. Would their implementation for the IB IL RS UNI work for this card? Thanks!!
Hi Daniel, Sorry, I didn’t realise the other thread was for a different module. But I believe that the answer is the same - the Modbus RTU library for PLCnext Engineer only supports Axioline I/O modules, and not InLine I/O modules. PLCnext Engineer itself may support IB IL RS485/422-PRO-PAC with the InLine adapter, but you will have to use the raw Process I/O variables to communicate with this module, without the support of the Modbus RTU library. I understand that the answer to Sven’s follow-up question about converting an old PC Worx FB library is “sorry, this is not possible”. ~ Martin.
Update to this question: The developers are currently working on the next release of the Modbus RTU FB library, which is planned to support Inline modules via the Inline adapter. We don’t have a release date for this yet, but please keep an eye on the PLCnext Store, where it will appear when available. ~ Martin.
