PLC is connected but not shown in "Online Controllers"

The controller is connected to PLCNext Engineer but the controller is not shown in Online Controllers I can connect it using the password and I can see its status in the Cockpit… etc I’ve already tried to reinstall PLCNext Engineer and the Npcap as suggested in this Forum but still not working. Any other suggestions? thanks

Hi lecampanelli, in some seldom configurations it seems indeed that the scan from PLCnext Engineer is not possible. We found out that the following tricks (some of them you have already tried) seems to help:

Check the status of npcap via shell (cmd) and "sc query npcap. If the state is „running“, OK. If not please try „sc config npcap start=auto“ and restart the service via „sc start npcap“ Deinstall npcap and install PLCnext Engineer with admin permissions
You can use the tool Netnames as alternative to scan and configure Profinet Devices (PLCnext Control is nothing else) Netnames. !! Keep in mind that normal PN devices will lost the IP after a power cycle. To prevent this activate the option „save IP Addresses permanently“
Hope this helps, Frank

Hi lecampanelli, just an additional reason came into my mint  . Since FW 2021.6 it is possible to deactivate unused system services Configuration_System_Services. In case you’ve deactivated the Profinet services, it will also not longer possible to scan the devices. Frank

Thanks for your help Still not working but now I can configure with Netnames
