I have started to get the following error message in PLCNext Engineer - even in an empty project. Could some one please explain those to me? Peter Paul Edit: The issue is with UPS-Conf software that I had installed to setup my UPS. Looks like that Engineer and UPS-Conf don’t work on the same computer. After uninstalling the UPS-Conf and Engineer, I installed Engineer again without error code. @Phoenix Contact: Could you please make sure that the different software products can work together on the same computer. Those are your products and I would expect they can run on the same system without killing each other. And if there is an issue, please let us users know, so that we don’t have to waste time in trying to find the issue in our systems.
Hello Peter, please try opening the engineer with administrator rights.
I think this is a permission issue.
→ the engineer can not access the pipes.edit: In other known cases, firewalls or windows updates can break these parts.
This seems to be caused by some .Net Component that multiple tools are using.This bug will be fixed in PLCnext Engineer 2020.3 Still the Admin workaround should also work right now.

As you know is the quality of our Hard- and Software products for us a very important topic and we’re constantly trying to enhance those.
Especially the interoperability is coming more and more in our focus and we’re investing a lot of effort and resources to offer our customers a good user experience.
As an example we’ve implemented a quality group which is testing several combinations of Hard- and Software products and tools – like a real system.
In additional will many upcoming software products be based on the same architecture which lowers the complexity and also the risk for incompatibility. Well, I know it could be always better, but I hope this could give you a small insight of our activities. Take care Frank
@ Frank, thanx for the info. I can imagine that the complexity of the software development is not to underestimated. And issues as those can and will show up. But I still would like a small info on those issues posted in the forum. Just to give us a heads-up. We have this forum to share our experiences and to look for some information’s, that could make thinks easier. I would say, that this info could fall in to this slot nicely. Peter Paul
