Problems with the AXC F 2152 Controller after installing PLCnext Edge Gateway

An attempt to install the “PLCnext Edge Gateway” app (psf.v1.5.1.gzip; with activated external Phoenix Contact 2MB SD card) failed with the error “Error: Timeout”. After that, the PLCnext controller was only reasonable to start available after a reset to the Factory Setting 2. Now, however, a firmware update can no longer be carried out. Each firmware update stops at about 40 MB remaining with the message “Failed to write update container file!”
Pls what can I do now?
Thanks
Reinhard

Did anyone end up fixing the issue? I am about to install PLCnext Edge Gateway and do not want to run into this problem.

I’d like to suggest that you contact the developer of the app, using the “Contact Developer” button on the app page of the PLCnext Store, and ask if they are aware of the “Error: Timeout” issue reported above.
Someone from Reinhard’s local Phoenix Contact office was subsequently in contact with him about the message “Failed to write update container file!”. The suspicion was that there were user files on the SD card (e.g. OCI images) that were not removed by a Type 1 or a Type 2 reset, and that deleting those files manually should solve the problem.

Okay, good to know. I’ll make sure to reset cards before using them for a new purpose. Thank you.

If you’re deleting the contents of the SD card manually, just be sure not to delete the License folder, otherwise the card will be unrecoverable.
