Regarding AX_CONTROL Function Block

Hi all,
I’m now trying to figure out the usage of AX_CONTROL FB.
In my guess, this FB’s usage is for READ connected devices’ information(e.g. Vendor etc.).
Is it right? I want to know what this FB is used for.
It’ll be very helpful if there is any using example with this FB,
but i can’t find it neigher plcnext help nor the PLCnext Online Help page description.
Can you guys give me an using example with some pictures of this FB?
Thank you in advance.

Hi, the AX_CONTROL function block is intended to be used by those familiar with Axioline firmware services. The details of these services are currently not publicly available. If you think you need to use these services, please get in touch with your local Phoenix Contact office and they can support you with that, with our help if necessary.
If you only want to read/write the module information that is listed in the data sheet for each Axioline module, then you can do that using the PDI_READ and PDI_WRITE function blocks.

Hi Martin,
Actually i’m Technical Support of PxC here and no one here know about the function(AX_CONTROL).
So i think this community is the only way to know the usage, and i need it now.
Can you guys give an example of using AX_CONTROL via my email then?
And is it correct to understand the meaning, „firmware services“ as firmware update like in the WBM page?(What exactly this means?)
Thank you in advance.

Please send an email to me (Martin Boers) from your Phoenix Contact email address and I will reply there.
