Can someone help me get the value from a scale that is connected via rs485 and the rs485 smart module.

i have a load cell, zm405 indicator, zseries rs485 option card
the card is configured but i get nothing, sometimes it sends 17 dollar sign characters

ive made some progress…
do i need to clear the buffer on the axl_rsuni_pd_4 somehow? the received variable always has the initial data in it and never updates. its like the buffer is full
