Hi Sigasec, I guess the error message is caused because you’re using a pre version of the 2019.0 with a special certificate. The easiest way to resolve this is to perform a factory reset type 2 (–> Factory Reset). Afterwards is the PLC rebooting with the recovery golden image (in your case FW 1.x) with the release certificate and you can go ahead with the release FW.
- → Please keep in mind that FW 1.x requeries an external SD card, otherwise it will not boot. Proceed than as follows:
1. Download the FW 2019.0LTS and perform the update via bash (--> [FW Update](https://www.plcnext.help/te/Operating_System/Operating_system.htm#Firmware_Update))
2. Download the FW 2020.0LTS and perform the update via WBM
Congrats, you’re back on track ?. Please keep in mind that there were some changes here and there between the beta version of 2019.0LTS and the release.
Depending on your application there could be some adaptions necessary, so if you’re running into problems please let us know… Take care! Frank
Hi Frank, thanks for a quick response. Is this SD card part of the starter kit we have? Or should it be purchased separately? Or rather any SD card could be used instead? Also, where is the recovery golden image is located? P.S. Yes, we’re back on track, hopefully.
Hello, I don’t think an SD card is included with AXC F 2152 Starter Kits, but you can check if there is an SD card in the slot of your PLC. The SD card must be either SD FLASH 2GB PLCNEXT MEMORY (1043501) or SD FLASH 8GB PLCNEXT MEMORY (1061701) - no other SD card will work. The golden image is stored inside every PLC, in a read-only memory area. ~ Martin.
Thanks a lot for your help! It worked! The SD card was indeed in the slot, so I performed factory reset, then updated FW to version 2019.0.4 via bash and after that updated it to 2020.0 via WBM, all worked like a charm. Yay!
