Hello: There are four Add-In Functions of PLCnext Engineer , We can basically understand the functional implications of SFC、 Simulink Viewer、 Safty. Could you explain how does the ACI function work in detail?
Dear 602129929@qq.com the ACI stands for “Application Control Interface” and is for remote controlling the PLCnext Engineer (UI less). By the usage of the ACI, different use cases can be fulfilled.
Let me give you one example - a nightly build scenario:
The user wants to run a nightly build server. Therefore, he needs to open a special project, compile the project and download it into a specified controller by an automated process.
In the next morning, the application is running on a controller and QA can make testing. So the PLCnext Engineer needs to be remoted controllable by another process for opening a project, compile the project and download it.
Exactly for such remote control functionalities, the ACI is available. Our vision is:
We want to be able to control every function which is usable in the UI via the ACI. Unfortunately, actually the ACI is very restricted and offers not really much functionalities. That’s also the reason why it is not deeply described until now. Best regards Carsten.
