WP 4120-WXPS and eHMI startup issues

Hello, I’m having an issue with a WP 4120-WXPS pointing at the eHMI page of an AXC F 2152 when the system is starting up. Both the screen and the PLC are powered on at the same time, but it seems that the screen boots up much quicker than the PLC. If I set the URL on the screen to https://plc-ip-address/ the screen eventually ends up at a blank page. We need to power down the screen and power it back up again, then it correctly loads the eHMI pages. If I set the URL on the screen to be the eHMI app itself (https://plc-ip-address/ehmi/hmiapp.html the screen eventually ends up at a “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable” page. Unfortunately, this page doesn’t automatically refresh, so again we need to power down the screen and power it back up again, then it correctly loads the eHMI pages. Once we have rebooted the screen once, everything works as expected It seems like if the screen simply waited longer before trying to load the eHMI pages, to give the PLC time to boot up, everything would work correctly. Unfortunately, I can’t set a startup time delay higher than 30s on the screen. Is there a way to increase the startup time on the screen, or is there some other solution to this problem? Thank you

There should be new firmware for this display that allows you to increase the startup delay; I would check the downloads section on the Phoenix Contact product page for this particular HMI and upgrade the firmware accordingly. I set the startup delay on my WP 4101-WXPS display to 45 seconds and that works well when paired with an AXC F 2152.

Tony, thanks for the info. When I checked for newer firmware the latest was the same as what was printed on the back of the screen, but maybe I will just try doing a firmware upgrade anyways and see what happens.
