Busconductor from node-red

Hello,

I'm using node-red to control plcnext I/Os. Currently, I/O configuration is done by PLCnext Engineer and it works. However I would like to configure via node-red instead of PLCnext Engineer. I think Busconductor is good option for this purpose but it is library(*.so) . According to the following site(https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44363573/how-to-access-so-library-from-nodejs-application), node.js doesn't support such library and requires executable object to control. Now I have a question. Do you have any plans to provide node-red custom-node of the Busconductor?

Best regards,

Atsushi

  • Hi Atushi,

The short answer is no (sorry).

We are now close to releasing an offline I/O configuration tool that may help in the short term. However this will not scan the Axioline bus or do an online/offline comparison like BusConductor does.

There are some other longer-term projects we are considering that may help to satisfy this requirement, but realisitically there is not likely to be anything available from us this year.

  • Hello Martin-san,

    Thank you for the information.

Okay, how can I get the "offline I/O configuration tool"?

    Best regards,

    Atsushi

  • Hi Atsushi, this tool (currently called "IoConf") has not been released yet. I understand that it is due for release before the end of April. The first version will only run on Windows, but there are plans to target other platforms.

    Martin.
