Open url action in eHMI
My AXC F2152 (firmware is 2021.0.LTS is connected to the internet by a TC Router. I can ping google while in Linux.
I am using a button in the eHMI to try and open google - format is http://www.google.com, also tried http://8.8.8.8. I get the " can't find DNS address" error
Is it possible to open google with this method? Is there a different address method that needs to be used?

Hi Ted,
I believe that this will try to open the web page directly from the HMI device, not via the PLC. Do you have the Gateway on the HMI set to the same address as the Gateway on the PLC? How about the DNS server address on the HMI? Can you browse directly to an external website from the HMI, instead of opening the eHMI page?
Hopefully the answers to these questions will help solve the problem.

Hi Martin,
I did have the gateway set. I admit it didn't occur to me to try and surf directly to google from the device (which is a BWP2070), so I tried and it wasn't reaching google. Maybe there i more I need to explore with my set-up.
But I was able to use the open url in conjunction with the BWP and was able to open the web page of another device, which was my real goal.
Since the customer isn't using a WP4000 (which can easily display multiple screens), when I open the web server of the other device, I have no way to access the original screen of the eHMI. is there a way to have the PLCNext close the web server screen and return to the eHMI page
Hi Ted,
No, the PLC can't even change the eHMI page automatically, so I'm pretty sure there's no way it can control the remote web browser. You might be able to embed the external web site in an eHMI page, and include navigation buttons around the embedded site. If you want to try that, and if you need help with it, please let us know.

Thank you for the response and the suggestion, Martin. I think that approach would work for this customer. If you have suggestions on how to do this, I would appreciate it!
