OPC communication with Siemens S7-1512
I'm seeing some issues when communicating with an Siemens S7-1512 CPU (client) and an AXC F2152 (master) via OPC_UA.
The communication is possible when user authentication in the AXC F2152 is disabled. When I enable user authentication and select "Enable basic 256 algorithm" I can see the OPC_UA server in TIA portal, but when I try to connect using User name and password, I get disconnected.
I have tried the same user name and password in OPC_UA Expert - no problems connecting to the AXC F 2152. That was to make sure user name and password are accepted by the AXC F 2152.
As background for the application: I plan to use an RFC 4072 as a master PLC for collecting data from different production units via OPC_UA. The AXC F 2152 is used for a concept test.

thanks for the hint, which FW Version of the S7 1512 are you using (I guess 2021.0 on the AXC F 2152)?

as it seems that the TIA UA Configurator does have problems loading the self-signed OPC UA certificate from the PLC into it's trust store, it would be great if you can share your findings with the Siemens Support later with us.
After the certificate is accepted from TIA it should easily possible to access the items, just like using the Unified Automation Test Client.
Take care,
Frank
