OPC Timestamp different from Real Time Clock Display

I cannot connect an OPC Server to my SCADA Software that has a differing OPC Timestamp than the PC That it is running on. How do I change the timestamp sent by the OPC server to match the real time clock?

  • Do I understand correctly, that you are able to see data from the PLC's OPC UA server in the SCADA client, but the timestamps are wrong on the OPC data?
If that's right, what sort of difference are you seeing?
    - What is the value of the "Time" field in the PLCnext Engineer page PLCnext => Online Parameters => Real time clock (after clicking the "Read values" button) ?
    - What is the value of the timestamp on the OPC data in the SCADA system?

A short explanation of what you might be seeing:
The SCADA system might be assuming that the time in the PLC is UTC (or UK/Ireland standard time), and it might be adjusting this for the time zone on your PC. If the time on your PLC has been changed to local time, then that can cause a problem like this.
The solution is to keep the time on the PLC as UTC time. Perhaps you can check if this "fixes" the problem?
  • Awesome, this solved my RTC and SCADA OPCUA timestamp difference issue. Thanks @Martin PLCnext Team#! I had adjusted my RTC to the local time so I moved it back to UTC time.
