Problem in booting up
Dear Sir/Madam,
I was debugging my PLCnext Starter kit and unplugged it for half an hour. When I started working again, I find out that it is not booting up. Meaning that the Run light is not turning on the green. I did the factory reset using the button on my PLC 2152 hardware following the routine instructions but there has been no change happened in the performance of the starter kit. Attached, I put a movie of the progress of the booting and the signals appearing on my PLC. I would appreciate it if you see the photo and tell me what's the problem and how can I troubleshoot the issue.
Best,
Mehran.

did you try a T1 Reset (10 sec Reset button) or a T2 Reset (60sec Reset Button) ?
When doing the factory reset did all the LEDs still light up orange?
Attached is only a picture. but I guess the boot LED is blinking some time?
If you did the T2 reset please try another T1 Reset.
Thank you for your kindly answer.
I think I did both T1 and T2 reset. I wish I could send you a movie of the signals but there is no movie uploading option available on the website. Because something weird happening after 30 seconds after I am releasing the restart button. Let me explain it.
When I am pushing the factory reset button, the RUN & FAIL signals remain ON (Continues). When I am releasing the factory reset button, all the lights are still orange for 3 sec and then suddenly all are switched to turned off. Then the D signal remains ON (in orange) and the BOOT signal blinks in red.
Then a weird thing is happening after about 15 seconds. There are 5 lights between the Controller and the AXL smart elements. The UP light is always in continuous green and the other 4 (D signals) are always blinking uniform (with similar frequency) in orange. After 15 sec the lights start blinking with the same frequency but at different timing. They are not blinking uniformly now.
To wrap it up, I don't have my RUN and BF-D signals ON and I can not connect to my PLC.
I do appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Mehran.
please check out the Manual of the PLCnext Controll the Orange LEDs at the boot process or perfectly normal.
If it is not able to boot up even after multiple T1 or T2 reset tries (give the PLC some time.)
You will need to contact your local subsidiary for a repair.
Mostlikely something on the PLC got damaged.
Did you perhaps power down the PLC after pressing the Reset Button? (In that case it might happen that the Boot image was not completly restored.)
During the recovery process the PLC will go through a couple of reboots during which the plc has to have a constant power supply.
kind regards,
Oliver
Actually, I did not get the point how would you mean about powering down? Like the PLC plugged out?
I had a conversation with the maintenance of the provider. They said the Linux was destroyed. They will change my PLCnext starter kit but it takes time which is not good for me. Meanwhile, would you mind if I ask you one more question? Is there any way for me to change the OS manually? Note that I don't have the USB flash formated by the PLCnext.
Best regards,
Mehran.
I do not think this is possible because the Internal storage seems to be damaged.
you would have to open the Housing to access this.
If you do you will lose the varenty, so i recommend to send it for repair at your local sales subsidiary.
kind regards,
Oliver
