Modbus Libaries Decision

Can anyone provide a brief synopsis of the differences, or advantages/disadvantages, of the 2 different Modbus libraries offered in the Store? Both are provided by Phoenix Contact, so there must be a reason to offer both. A quick look shows that the ReSyNetM one might have a bit more granular control, in that the different Modbus Function Codes can be selected independently and have different timing is desired.

    Hi sparky,

    unfortunately there is no direct comparision available. Bith Modbus functionalitis are developed individually by different developers in different departments.

    The Modbus functions in the RESY library are developed for special markets where the RESY functionalities apply, the standard Modbus library is moreless a library for the broad market.

    Customers who need Modbus TCP in their applications only use the standard Modbus library.
