Internet Connection for plc next

edited August 2023 in PLCnext Store

The issue I'm facing pertains to establishing an internet connection. I've been attempting to connect using both Wi-Fi and Ethernet through a switch. Additionally, when following a specific guide to connect through Putty, the Putty application unexpectedly shuts down. Despite attempting various IP addresses within the same network, the problem persists. I'm utilizing PLCnext Engineer 2023.3 for this task and have conducted scans using tools like nmap and Wireshark to confirm the accuracy of the IP address. Despite confirming the correctness of the IP, I'm unable to establish a successful connection using Putty. time is also synchronized I am trying to connect to Profi Cloud Services and to PLCnext Store there was a connection before and now there is no connection I tried to set all options to the factory version I have a test version of kit but i still have problems

  • Can I ask for a video tutorial on how to set it all up?

  • I'm not a fan of the makers blog you reference - it seems to be more complicated than is necessary, maybe because the author did not have the freedom to configure his local ethernet network as he wanted, and so needed to find some work-arounds to, for example, find a free IP address on his LAN.

The process for connecting a PLCnext Control device to the Internet is the same as for any other Ethernet-based device. Since every user's LAN could be different, there's not really one procedure that suits all applications.

If you can provide a diagram showing:

    • all the devices on the LAN and/or WLAN, including the PLCnext Control device and the Internet Router,
    • the physical connections between all the devices, and
    • the IP addresses of all the devices,

... then that will help to understand what the problem is.

Or, if you can at least answer these questions, that will help to identify the issue:

    • What is the IP address and subnet mask of the PC on the LAN?
    • What is the IP address and subnet mask of the PLCnext Control device?
    • What is the Gateway IP address in the PLCnext Control device?
    • What is the IP address and subnet mask of the internet router on the LAN?
    • Can you ping the IP address of the Internet router from the PLCnext Control device?

  • ok i sort to connection you need start putty as administrator but still i cant have confection with Profi Cloud Services

  • You can ignore Proficloud for the moment.

You should be able to use PuTTY to open an SSH connection to the PLCnext Control device, using:

    • the IP address that you have assigned to the PLC,
    • the admin user,
    • the password printed on the front of the controller.

Then, you should be able to answer the five questions I listed.
