Safety setup from scratch using SPLC1000 and PSDI8 safety module and ESTOP
Hi! I have been trying to figure out how to get started using the SPLC1000 module from scratch but cannot find a simple step by step procedure
1) I have the PSLC1000 included in my plcnext engineer software
2) plcnext engineer software then made an S_Main which I can open
3) From this point on I am completely at a loss
a) I can't see any sort of examples of wiring up the ESTOP to the PSDI8
b) I see other types of plc programming software has Emergency stop function blocks and even one video "SPLC Overview, PLCnextEngineer, Phoenix Contact" has a library for PLCopen_SF_V2 which seems to have the function blocks but I can't see any way to download this?
I am hoping with some sort of simple example or instructions I can thenget the idea and implement the rest of the safety systems

Can you confirm that you've worked through the getting started example in the User Manual for the AXC F XT SPLC 1000?
The section on "Creating a Safety Related Program" starts on page 110.
Hi, i'm looking at the SF_EmergencyStop FB from the library you mentioned but i can't open the help file to see the explanations on the block. I'm trying this from PLCnext Engineer 2023.0.5 Safety Engineering Platform 2023.0.13541.0. I have tried right-click on the library block in the Programming tab and then selecting Help, i have tried dragging the block in the program and selecting the Help icon above the block and i have tried right-click on the block in the code and then select Help but nothing opens in the browser or in PLCnext Engineer. Any suggestions?
I will report this problem to the PLCnext Engineer developers.
You can see the description of this block by opening the Help system (Help -> View Help) and then searching for the name of the function block.
The online version of the help page you're looking for is here:
Update:
It turns out that the Help system contains information for the original version of that library, not version 2. But hopefully it's similar enough to answer most of your questions.
The developers are already planning to update the help system and fix the broken links in a future version of PLCnext Engineer.
