PN status meaning

Hello,

I use RFC 4072s as a Profinet master, and AXC 2152 as profinet slave, the PN data is transmited normally, but when I check the PN status in WBM, shows as following picture. So what is the reason of "Neighborhood information is not available", how to fix it?

About the web link(on the device name) of each PN device, it seems some PN devices have the link, the other donot have, but actually every PN device have the its own Web, need to do some set to get the link?

Please help check that, thanks.

  • Hello Gong,

the Neighborhood information will be provided from the PN-Switch, do you use in your PN-Network managed PN-Switch ?

Please try to connect the AXCF2152 device directly to the RFC4072 controller. Is the Warning Message persists?

I have the same Network, the diagnostic looks as follows:

    PN COnnection

  • Hi  Eduard,

I didnot use a PN-Switch, just use a unmanaged switch.  I try to connect AXC F 2152 and RFC 4072s controller directly, the warning disappeared. Is this related to LLDP?

  • Hello Gong,

yes of course, the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is a vendor-neutral link layer protocol used by network devices for advertising their identity, capabilities, and neighbors on a local area network.

I would like to recommed you to use the managed PN-Switches in PN-Networks.

    Best Regards,

    Eduard

  • Hi Eduard,

    ok, thanks very much.

Do you have some ideas about the web link of PN device?

  • Hello Gong,

I assume that the information about the web link appears in the list when the WBM server is enabled on the device. If the web server is enabled, but the information is not displayed in the device list, you can check the PN device settings or try to connect the PN device to a different switch port (may be this information will be not safely identified by the switch).

    Best Regards

    Eduard
