AXC F 2152 - IEC61850 communication writing capabilities

Hello PLC next experts,

I’m reaching out to request your technical support regarding one of our customers who is currently using the PLCnext AXC F 2152 with the IEC 61850 application. The customer already has IEC 61850 communication configured for reading; however, they now require write functionality. Their objective is to write via IEC 61850 in order to activate a digital output on the same PLC. The communication setup would be between the AXC F 2152 and a Schneider Electric ADMS SCADA system.

Specifically, the customer would like clarification on whether including a Logical Node within the IEC 61850 DataSet would define the variable that can be transmitted and used to trigger a digital output on the PLC.

I’m writing to find out if any of you have experience in this area. To see if you can support us with any information so that we can try to move forward with the client.

I remain attenttive to your reponse. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

would you mind sharing some more information about the project the customer wants to realise?
In general you can of course use the IEC61850 App to send / receive data, map this within the GDS and depending on your programm toggle I/Os. If this works with the customers Schneider Electric setup needs to be evaluated with more detailed information.

Best regards,
