I have a simple program that is constantly measuring and logging temperature data on a PLC. It runs fine, but if I want to power off the PLC, I stop the program, unplug it, and when I power it back on, it gets stuck booting up.
I have to remove the SD card for it to be able to boot up, and when it does it has factory reset itself.
I would appreciate advice on what might be going wrong and how to fix it!
I would recommend that you factory reset the PLCnext and the SD card.
Make sure you are running a LTS firmware version 2024.0.9 or the latest 2025 version
Save a copy of your project before making any changes.
To reset the PLCnext
Power off the PLC.
Hold in the recessed reset button
Then apply power to the PLC.
Continue to hold the reset button for about 10 seconds after powering on.
The status LEDs should go yellow, and a reset sequence will begin.
Hi Jeff,
I have factory reset the PLC several times. It also resets itself if it gets stuck booting up for too long.
The issue still persists.
I’m using 2025.0.2 for both PLCnext Engineer and the firmware.

Can you access any of the controller, like the WBM when it hangs on startup? There might be something in the notifications but if you have to pull the SD card you won’t see it.
No boot, no ethernet link up, D led orange static (no flashing) and Boot led flashing 2 x / second. After some time, D led turns off by 2~3 seconds and turns ON again. This process repeats indefinitely
