Hello, We have a system which requires dynamic setup of the bus. The arrangement of the modules itself, the number of modules, and also the module specific configuration.
With module specific configuration I mean for example, serial line setup (baudrate etc ++), analog channels “mode” (0mA-20mA, ±20mAh etc.).
The information we need to setup all this is found in our own xml configuration files, and due to the nature of our application / system we have to be completely independent from PLCNext engineer when setting up a controller.
The configuration / arrangement will not change run-time. Based on our config files we need to be able to setup / configure the bus on the PLCNext controller. I have read up on the bus conductor, however, to me it seems like this is only related to the dynamic arrangement of the controllers?
However, it could perhaps be an option for us the use the BusConductor approach to setup the “general” arrangement, then setup the module specific config afterwards without touching the tic files?
If so do you have some information about how this can be done using C++? Before the bus conductor was released we have been discussing with representatives from Phoenix that we were to generate the tic files our-self, but I feel that this approach would be far better for us.
Do you have some idea on what the best method for us is? FYI: We are writing a application in c++, and will be using the plcnext firmware to start the application, but will not be using the ESM to handle execution. Best regards,
