Connecting External Hard Drive to EPC 1502 with Yocto Linux

Dear Phoenix Contact Community,
Dear Phoenix Contact Community,
I’m a user of the EPC 1502 device by Phoenix Contact, utilizing it for various purposes such as running C++ libraries, Structured Text, and managing containers like Node-RED, Grafana, and InfluxDB .However, I’m facing a challenge in connecting an external hard drive to the available USB ports primarily designated for mouse and keyboard connections.
Specific Requirement:
I need to store large volumes of data, exceeding 32GB, reaching into the terabytes. Hence, the necessity to connect an external hard drive to the EPC 1502.
Questions:

                              1. Is it feasible to connect an external hard drive to the USB ports on the EPC 1502 running Yocto Linux, considering their primary use for mouse and keyboard connections?
                              2. Are there any recommended configurations or steps that need to be followed to enable the use of USB ports for an external hard drive in this configuration?

I’m seeking guidance from this community forum. Any insights, suggestions, or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated to facilitate the successful connection of an external hard drive to the EPC 1502.

Hi SaumyaDave,
The USB Ports on the EPC1502 do not support connection of an external hard drive. There are plans to support this functionality with the next generation of PLCnext EPC, but there is no time frame available at this time.
In the interim, the EPC1522 does offer more storage, as it has a 128GB SSD.
Thanks
