Go for 2152

Hello all, Ive been looking into methods of using OPCUA with the AXC 2152 without having the processors being overly taxed. We started using Node-Red, however, after an update to the 2019.3 FW, Node-Red no works (after trying to install packages, build.js gets deleted?). After looking around the Internet for a little, I’ve found out about a language called “Go” that seemed promising so I figured I’d check if there was any way to connect to an OPCUA server. Turns out, there is. My post to you guys is, has anyone tried this method yet and would like to share their results before I dive too deep into this?

Hi Noah, I’m afraid I can’t help with your question about Go - I know nothing about this language, except that it often competes with Rust (my personal favourite) for most popular language. However, I am interested in the problems you’re having with node-red. I understand that we have users who have installed node.js and npm from the PLCnext Store, then node-red, and then node-red packages, without too many problems. I would be interested to know what it is about FW 2019.3 that has made a difference. Also, I’m interested in your application, and whether there might be a better solution than either node-red or Go. If you’d like to share your goal, perhaps someone in the Community can offer other suggestions (I know I’m never shy about offering mine). - Martin.
