HMI extra components

Hi, Is it possible to add other HMI components to the PCWE environment ? Among other things, I really need things like combobox and listbox. The “Symbol List” component is apparently undocumented, not trivial to use (looks like unfinished work to me) and insufficient for my need. Thanks.

Dear fblanchard, The philosophy of the HMI is to supply a toolbox of primitives that allow more complex symbols to be built up from these primitives. The first step in defining the symbol list is to create a symbol that represents a row in the list.

Expose parameters for the symbol that represent each data item for the row. Once the layout of the controls for a row is designed, you can create a symbol list on a page. The symbol list is designed to be bound to array data types.
The parameters of the row symbol instance are bound to the corresponding element for that array. The selected row of the symbol list can be bound to a control variable.
This is shared with all other clients.
We are currently developing support for a private context so that controls like list boxes and combo boxes can have a local visual state. Attached is a project that uses the symbol list. Also note that because we have a touch-first model, scrolling of the list box requires a touch-drag or a click and drag of the mouse.

Unfortunatly the Symbol List is currently not supported by the AXC F 2152 Template.
I hope we can fix this soon…

You can test this functionality as a preview with a AXC F 1050 template.

I hope I can supply you with a guide about how to include your own HMI Objects soon.

kind regards,

Fix will be included with the next PC Worx Engineer release.
