I was pretty disappointed when I figured out that the phoenix contact HMI I ordered at $1200 is HTML5 and the PLCNext Engineer HMI Library is minimal and primitive at best. Is there any support coming in 2022.0 (Someday) for more HMI flexibility. I have bought $500 HMI’s from Automation Direct that make the phoenix Contact HMI’s look like a child’s toy. I’m not normally critical of Phoenix Contact as I have been a loyal customer for years but I have to say that you guys are falling behind on the user interface end of things. Would just love some feedback on where you guys are headed with this because I have to be honest, when I see a better product for the end user, and its a fraction of the price, I wonder why I spend my time writing programs from the ground up, devoting endless hours to programming and paying out the yin yang for the product, when much easier and cheaper, durable options are flooding the market. Like I said, I love phoenix contact, but I’m growing weary of the intense programming that goes into the automation and integration that I do with this product.
I would love to stand corrected if my criticism is misplaced.
