Information ESM's

Hello, I’ve got some questions about the ESM. 1) Why are there two ESMs? Why do I want to use the second one? 2) The tasks are scheduled on priority, but what about the programs in a task? Are they running parallel? Arne

Hi Arne, 1) There are two ESMs because there are two cores on the CPU of the AXC F 2152, and it was decided to make the benefits of multi-core processing available to users of the PLCnext runtime. If you want two tasks to run at the same time and not interrupt each other, then you can run them in parallel on different ESMs. 2) Programs in a task run sequentially, one after the other, in the order that they are listed in the ESM/Task view in PLCnext Engineer. Martin.
