Dear PLCnext team, I have a question about the capacity of SD card provided from Phoenix Contact. Is there any plan to provide SD cards that have more capacity (32GB, 64GB, 128GB…) ? My customer plans to use AXCF2152 controller to capture analog input data from their machine
and store the captured data into SD card. They will analyze the historical data later for
predict maintenance. For the analysis, they will store the data for several weeks. So, they
need more bigger capacity of SD card.
Although I suggested them to use a cloud service to store the logger data, they don’t want
to do it by following their policy.They don’t like to store such data in outside network. If there is no plan to provide such SD card, could you please let me know an alternative solution.

Hello Hiroki, we have in our timeline no release of bigger SD Cards, yet. But we have a plan to build a leftside Extension Module with a SSD inside. There we will have a lot memory space for such applications. Best Regards Eduard

I’d appreciate it if you could give me more information about the SSD left side-extension (release date, SSD capacity and so on). I’m really interested in the SSD left-side extension solution. Hi Hiroki, I do not have any information about the left-side extension solution, but if your PLC is able to communicate with other devices on the Local Area Network - possibly even in the same control cabinet as the PLC - then you may be able to transfer files from the PLC to that device for more “long-term” storage.
