ODP interface for Proficloud

We already have the little TC Mobile x300 that supports ODP protocol. This device is a perfect easy to configure Internet Thing. It would be really great if we could directly interface one with the proficloud. Getting the Proficloud stack onto the device is probably a redesign, but getting a server onto the proficloud and building an interface is likely much easier. Or maybe depending on how it interfaces with the “app” for the x200, it looks like it goes through Phoenix servers.

The only option I see now is some datahandling with an ODP server running on a PC, but it would be cool if we could install the ODP server in the proficloud, and make it use up Proficredits as it pushes data. Thoughts?

Hi Andrew, nice idea! One possibility that comes to mind is to run an ODP server on a service like AWS, which the TC Mobiles can (?) connect to. Then, use the Proficloud SDK to write an adapter between the ODP server and the Proficloud. This might be reasonably straighforward for a bespoke project, but it would be more difficult to make generic i.e. configurable for any arbitrary collection of TC Mobiles and data points. Your idea could also be extended to any of our wireless products - e.g. there could be a Proficloud head station for RadioLine, maybe with a built-in SIM card. I expect that a mobile version of the new IOT Gateway might also be on the drawing board. - Martin.
