I have a project originally built with 2019.9. When I attempted to update to 2020.3.1 the OPC UA ID of the variables changed from 5 to 4. My HMI is a Phoenix Contact Visu+ Express 2403462. Is there a way to set the OPC UA ID in the PLC Next Engineer? Because of the limited implementation of OPC UA in Visu+ Express manually changing every variable ID is not an option I am willing to choose. Thank you, Josh
Hi Josh, I guess you’re referring the OPC UA Namespace ID. Indeed there were a slightly change in FW 2020.3.1 as an old and depreciated namespace were removed (PLCopen). “Full OPC UA Clients” have to update their namespace table during the init phase as the server is allowed to change his namespaces (of course not during a running connection).
Maybe the explanation in the article of Unified Automation helps here a bit. However, I’ll give my colleges from Visu+ a ping in that direction and there are in mid term no further changes of the namespaces planned. Take care, Frank
