PLC doesn´t restart after SampleRuntime

Hello, I am following the steps of the SampleRuntime from Github to learning how to implement it. But after to download the script from Part-02, the PLC doesn´t boot after restart. The led D stays turned on forever. To start it again, I have to delete the runtime.acf.config file from the SD Card. None log file is created. The only changes that I have made in the original script were in tasks.json file to build the project for 2019.9 firmware and I have included the namespace ARP in runtime.cpp file because the compiler was not find the Log instruction. Do you have any suggestion what could be wrong or how to identify the problem ? Regards, Sidnei

Hi Sidnei, I haven’t heard this problem before, and I know that others have worked through this step of the tutorial OK. If there is no log file being created, and if the PLCnext runtime does not start, then it may be that the call to ArpSystemModule_Load is not being called correctly. Can you please check all the parameters on that call, including the exact path to the .acf.settings file? Note that, in the example, the “runtime.acf.settings” file is in a directory called “runtime” (it is easy to miss this detail). Martin.

Sidney,

While working with the C++ runtimes (also outside the scope of tutorials) I have been encountering a similar issue. If possible try to check the ~/logs/Output.log file for any errors. In my case the controller having only the D LED lit for indefinite time was that or there was a runtime error or an unhandled exception in the executable, or the configuration files where incorrect.

Regards,
Michael

Hello Martin and Michael, I have checked the path of the files and it was correct. I haven´t found any log file with error messages. I decided to make a factory default reset on PLCNext. After that the runtime program worked well. I don´t know what was causing this problem. But now I can test the next parts. Thank you for you help. Sidnei
