Hi PLCNext team,
I’ve noticed that on the AXC 2152 page, toolchain releases are missing for 2022.09, and 2023.00 LTS. The latest package I see is „PLCnext_Toolchain_Windows_2022.6.zip“.
We’re interested in being on the latest LTS version for an ongoing C++ project. Does Phoenix intend to release toolchain versions in step with API, SDK, Engineer, etc releases? Does it matter?
Best regards,
Josh.
Hi Josh,
typically the toolchain release is one month after the xx.00 LTS and the xx.06 firmware release. Most parts of the toolchain and firmware are independent from each other and it does not matter which version of the toolchain is used. We recommend to use always the latest release, to get all features.
But for the release 2023.0 LTS we will not release a new toolchain. You can use the 2022.6 without issues and missing features.
The upcoming release will be the 2023.3. This is due to a bunch new features, which had to be synchronize with the upcoming PLCnext Engineer and Firmware 2023.3.
