Hello. My name is Marek Wojciechowski and I’m very interested with ProfiCloud. I have device controlled by Profinet with correct configuration GSD (ServoGun with SMC controller XT581). I want to make testing program (current calibration, waterflow controlling etc.). This device will be connected to laptop without PLC. We can say I like to make testing station for ServoGun with Follow Error etc. (I like to collect data and make visualisation of data on charts). Can I by ProfiCloud get IO data from device ? Hi Marek, Nice to hear that you are interested in using our proficloud To understand, what you plan to do with your device: Your device uses profinet and provides data like I/O, temperature, …? Now you want to connect this device to proficloud to gather the data provided and visualize it e.g. with charts? I will attach you a picture of the architecture of your solution. If you want to connect a device using profinet you need a Coupler and an SDK from us. With the SDK you can build a service connection to use grafana Dashboard for visualisation. The coupler has to be registered with its UUID in the ProfiCloud. It is the physical link between your profinet device and the proficloud. Hello, AXC F 2152 PLCs, on their own, cannot replace the function of the CLOUD COUPLER-PRO and/or AXC CLOUD-PRO devices. In theory it is possible for a Profinet controller to communicate with I/O remotely over the internet without the CLOUD COUPLER-PRO, but at the moment this would require significant engineering effort or a third-party app (if one even exists). So, at the moment the simplest solution to this problem is to use the CLOUD COUPLER-PRO. ~ Martin.
Hi Martin, Thank you for the answer. We’re planning to use both PROFINET and TSD service from the PROFICLOUD. So if we want to do this, we need AXC Cloud PRO as the remote IOs, and Cloud coupler + AXC F 2152 (as the master controller) in the local station? (there will be about 30 remote IOs and one local controller that will be integrated to existing SCADA system)
Hello, you are right with the devices that you would need. The AXC F 2152 as Profinet Controller and for sending TSD to the proficloud and the AXC Cloud-Prro and the Coupler for the Profinet connection to the remote IOs. However, to be honest, the AXC Cloud-Pro and the Cloud Coupler are allready “End-Of-Life” and also are announced to be discontinued. The same is planned for the Profinet Solution in proficloud.net. The new and future-proofed solution would be to use proficloud.io. There are some functions like TSD available. For more cloud based solutions you can contact the responsibles directly at inbox@phoenixcontact-sb.io. However, I am forwarding your questions to them as well.
Hi Arno, I just read your reply, thanks for the information. When will it be discontinued? and are there any other solution as the substitution of the axc cloud-pro and the cloud coupler? Because we still have the need to connect the remote IOs to the local controller and existing SCADA on the costumer.
