Hi I’m making a new program for a 2152, and the same program will be used in 2 controllers on the same network. The controllers will be identical, but 2 different machines. How can i manage to have 2 different controllers wit different IP addresses, running the same program? - Emil
Hi Emil, As you’ve noticed, the PLCnext Engineer project includes the IP address of the controller, and it is not possible to download the project to a controller that does not have that IP address. If you take two AXC F 2152 controllers out of the box and put them on the same network, there will be an IP address conflict straight away (since the PLCs come with the default IP address 192.168.1.10). So the IP address must be changed somehow, at some stage. You can set the IP address in the PLC in a few ways:
1. Change the IP address in the PLCnext Engineer project, and then in the Online Devices window select the PLC and click the button "Apply the project device settings to the online device". 2. Edit the file `/etc/network/interfaces` on the PLC, then in PLCnext Engineer (in the Online Devices window) select the PLC and click the button "Apply the online device settings to the project device". This will over-write the IP address in the PLCnext Engineer project.Another common solution to this problem is to use a router (or a NAT switch) to keep the same IP address on both PLCs, but allow them to participate on the network without conflicts. In this case the one-and-only-immutable PLCnext Engineer project would need to be downloaded to the PLCs from the LAN side of the router(s). - Martin.
