Hey guys, I have some really large projects coming up with large IO counts. It just doesnt make sense to build several large PLC’s with crazy IO counts to test my logic before deployment as these PLC’s need to operate correctly out of the gate and there is not going to be days to test and bring them online. These projects will happen same day replacements in our facilities. I would love to use Phoenix’s PLC’s going forward but it really is a hinderance not being able to test logic real time. Is there a timeline for getting a simulator up and running? Like I said, I really like the PLCnext but if there isnt something coming that I can test my logic with then I will probably go with a line of PLC’s that have an operational testing platform before deployment. Thanks!
Hi AC, Functionality to simulate a controller in PLCnext Engineer is planned for the beginning of 2022. I can recommend speaking with your local Phoenix Contact sales person to discuss the alternatives.
Thanks Martin
Hey Martin, I may be overlooking the instructions but how do I launch the simulator?
Unfortunately the release of the simulator has been delayed. It is currently scheduled to be released at the end of this month. That may change again, but hopefully not by too much.
