Hi,
I notice in /opt/plcnext/logs there is a uatrace.log and uatrace_*.log. Presumably they pertain to debugging OPC UA issues. They don’t have anything very interesting in them at the moment, and I was wondering if there is a setting somewhere on the PLC to increase the verbosity of these log files ? Tried looking around most of the documentation and could not find anything.
Cheers
Hi,
You can get an info of an OPC UA login in the Output.log.
For a deeper insight into the system, it is possible to activate an extended log mode. In addition to the messages of typeError, Warning, and Information, this also displays the developmentDebug messages. To activate the extended mode, change the configuration of the /etc/plcnext/__Device .log.ini (e.g. /etc/plcnext/AXCF2152.log.ini) as described under https://www.plcnext-community.net/infocenter/output_log/.
Hi Lindsay, I mistakenly thought this information had been given to you last week, sorry about that.
The detailed OPC UA trace can be activated by following these instructions:
Knowledge Portal ese portal I am in touch with the technical support people in your local Phoenix Contact office, and we may have other suggestions to help troubleshoot the problems that Joshua described last week.
… and logging Debug messages in the Output.log file may also help to diagnose problems, as mentioned by Philipp.
Hi Martin & Phillip,
Thanks again for both suggestions. Yes, we currently already have our log level set to DEBUG. I did actually receive the information in person last week but mistook what it was for (at the time I did not realise it was activating the trace on the PLC, I thought it was just a UAExpert specific trace). Have followed instructions and will see if it helps with debugging. We have progressed with the issue in question and have a suspect, will keep everyone updated.
Cheers,
Lindsay
