There was an error in updating firmware to 2023.9 via the WBM after doing a type 2 reset. I am currently attempting to incrementally update the firmware by going to 2021.0.5 and up for each major release.
I also tried scp the file across and updating via the method described here: <https://www.plcnext-runtime.com/ch02-04-firmware.html#upgrading-the-firmware>.
I ran into an error which was:
"LastError: signature verification failed: Verify error:self signed certificate in certificate chain"

Note: To make sure that software or firmware files downloaded via internet have not been corrupted or tampered, perform an integrity check of the downloaded files. You can find further information in Integrity check of downloaded files
So updating the firmware on your device after a Type 2 reset is a two-stage process:
1. Update to version 2022.0 LTS.
2. Update to version 2023.9.
