After upgrading to 2019.0 LTS (FW, C++ SDK, PLCnext Engineer), I have these errors lines being written in the PLCnext log file every 30 seconds: 19.03.19 15:55:46.507 Arp.Io.ProfinetStack.System.Internal.Adaption ERROR - Event Archive Entry, Module ID: b2, Message: UTILS_StationNameCheck: character “¤” not allowed in label
19.03.19 15:55:46.508 Arp.Io.ProfinetStack.System.Internal.Adaption ERROR - Error Stack Entry 0: ModId: 57 ErrCode = 0xD357060B, AddInfo = 0x0 Codelab: 0x5500012B dcparp_util.c(299)
It would be such a problem if this would accelerate flash memory wearing in the long term. I found no problem with the few string identifiers used in my project configuration. I tried to fix this issue indirectly by setting “ARP_PROFINET_SUPPORT” value=“false” in the /etc/plcnext/Device.acf.settings file, and hoping it could also make the BF-C" and “BF-D” red LED stop flashing red, but I got another error, fatal this time: 19.03.19 15:51:13.648 Arp.System.Acf.Internal.Sm.ComponentsController ERROR - Exception occurs while setting up config of component ‘Arp.Plc.Gds’: Exception of type ‘Arp::System::Commons::KeyNotFoundException’ was thrown
GetComponentBuffer: Could not find data buffer of component ‘Arp.Io.PnD’.
…etc…etc… How can I fix both problems ? Thanks.
Hello, this looks like something might be wrong with the Profinet Name. Maybe try to reset your device names with the PLCnext Engineer or NetNames… The Second error occurs because you still have PN Variables defined in the GDS.Config.
If you delete all the PN Variables from your GDS config this error should be gone as well.
Hi Oliver, 1) I changed every names I know of that could be modified, but still I get the “character “¤” not allowed in label”. 2) I check for “PN” variables in /opt/plcnext/projects/PCWE/Plc/Gds/PCWE.gds.config. Do you means variables that looks like theses ? Connector startPort=“Arp.Io.PnD/PND_S1_PLC_RUN” endPort=“Arp.Plc.Eclr/PND_S1_PLC_RUN” Connector startPort=“Arp.Io.PnC/PNIO_SYSTEM_BF” endPort=“Arp.Plc.Eclr/PNIO_SYSTEM_BF” How can I get rid of theses variables as this file is generated automatically by PLCnext Engineer ? I read again the Change_Notes_en.pdf for the new firmeware 2019.0 LTS and I saw this: **" Projects that you created in
PC Worx Engineer must be re-created in PLCnext Engineer." **I was assuming that the conversion process when loading older project would suffice (plus recreating the PLCnext Controller component as show in the News recent tutorial video). Is it the case or not ? Thanks very much
Hello, I have seen similar errors on my PLC, and I have escalated this to the Product Manager. Hopefully I will have an answer soon. - Martin.
Hi all, even when this post is quite old I’d like to put a few more details in here, as it might be useful for others ?. The notification UTILS_StationNameCheck: character “¤” not allowed in label is in most cases uncritical and caused from some frames in the network which could not be handled from the PN Stack. However, it is of course annoying to have all those records inside the log. Therefore we’ll implement a suppression of this notification with the upcomming firmware 2020.3 (release is planned for early April). Reg Frank
